Materials at a glance
Easiest to print, low warp, rigid. Softens around 55–60°C, so it is a poor choice for hot cars or outdoor sun.
Tougher and more heat resistant than PLA, food-contact grades exist, strings more. Bonds strongly to smooth PEI.
Heat resistant and machinable but warps; needs an enclosure and ventilation.
Like ABS with much better UV and weather resistance. Ideal for outdoor parts.
Flexible and abrasion resistant. Print slowly; direct drive extruders handle it best.
Very tough and wear resistant but absorbs moisture fast. Dry it and print from a dry box.
Strong and heat resistant. Needs high temperatures and an enclosure.
Stiff and matte with fewer visible layer lines. Abrasive: use a hardened nozzle.
