Calculators
All calculators →Print cost calculator
Work out what a 3D print really costs: filament, electricity, machine wear and failures, plus a suggested sell price. Free and instant.
MaterialsFilament length and weight converter
Convert filament meters to grams and grams to meters for PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU, nylon and more, at 1.75 or 2.85 mm.
MaterialsSpool remaining calculator
Weigh your spool and find out how many grams and meters of filament are left, and whether it is enough for your next print.
CalibrateE-steps calculator
Calibrate your extruder: enter your marks and get the corrected E-steps, the M92 command, and the Klipper rotation_distance.
CalibrateFlow rate calculator
Measure a single-wall test cube and get the corrected flow rate or extrusion multiplier for your slicer.
CostResin cost and volume calculator
Estimate resin volume, weight and cost per print including supports, and how many prints you get from a 1 L bottle.
CostPrint time estimator
Get a rough print time from part volume, layer height, line width and speed, and check you are within your hotend flow limit.
CalibrateTolerance and shrinkage calculator
Find the dimension to model so the printed part comes out right after shrinkage, plus hole clearance for press, slip and loose fits.

Print doctor
All defects →Blobs and zits
Small bumps or pimples appear on the outer surface of a print, usually where each layer starts and ends or where the nozzle pauses.
FixClogged nozzle
Something blocks the nozzle or hotend so filament can only trickle out or stops completely, starving the print or ending it early.
FixElephant foot
The bottom few layers of a print bulge outward beyond the walls above them, making the base wider than designed and hurting fit.
FixGhosting (ringing)
Faint repeated echoes of edges and features appear on surfaces after sharp direction changes, caused by vibration of the print head or frame.
FixLayer separation
Layers fail to fuse to each other, so the print splits or cracks horizontally along layer lines, either during printing or under light load.
FixLayer shifting
Part of a print is suddenly offset sideways from the layers below because the print head lost its position on the X or Y axis mid-print.
FixOver-extrusion
Too much plastic comes out of the nozzle, making walls bulge, surfaces rough and parts larger than designed, often with blobs.
FixPoor bed adhesion
The first layer does not stick firmly to the build plate, so prints shift, curl or detach completely, often within the first few layers.
